“As an artist I am inspired by the forms and stories of old trees, by the way humans, animals and natural processes have shaped them. My art encourages us to look at trees in new ways and to think about our ancient, layered relationships with them as living organisms.” – Tansy Lee Moir
Brand new for 2025, we are delighted to welcome internationally-acclaimed artist Tansy Lee Moir for a very special art workshop drawing the beautiful veteran and ancient trees in Haddon Medieval Park. Find out how to read the stories written in their forms and enjoy learning to capture their unique shapes in charcoal, graphite and conté crayon as you walk, talk and draw in the parkland.
In this full day workshop, Tansy will demonstrate how she uses drawings to record not just the appearance, but the structure and energy of trees as living things. In the morning you will learn how to sketch quickly and confidently outdoors, gathering visual information to bring back to develop in our Tudor Stable Block Studio during the afternoon.
No experience is necessary – you will be supported and challenged to progress from where you are. All materials and equipment, including folding stools, will be provided.
Haddon Hall is a privately-owned estate, and one of the only houses in England to have remained in one family’s ownership for its entire existence. Your support enables us to protect the buildings and precious landscape here for the future.
Please note that admission to Haddon Hall is not included within the price of this event.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
