“I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Create with Nature’ workshop. Jane is such a lovely and talented person. She made learning something new not only enjoyable but inspiring. The day was perfectly balanced with a nice mix of activities.” – Attendee on 2024 Workshop
This year we are delighted to welcome back Jane Bevan to Haddon Medieval Park for a ‘Create with Nature’ Art Workshop. Jane is a contemporary artist working in natural materials foraged from local woodlands and hedgerows. Using “often overlooked and trodden on” feathers, thorns, twigs, seeds and leaves, she creates intricate collages, sculptures and wall hangings with a wealth of colour, pattern and texture.
This full day event starts with a short walk in the ancient private parkland that surrounds Haddon Hall to take inspiration from the landscape and to forage for materials. The day then continues in our Tudor Stables Studio, where Jane will teach participants how to create a wide range of artworks using only natural materials and simple techniques such as stitching, weaving and binding. Everyone will take home several unique artworks including collage and small sculptures.
This event is suitable for everyone over the age of 16. No previous experience or art skill is required. All tuition, materials and equipment will be provided.
Haddon Hall is a privately-owned estate, and one of the only houses in England to have remained in one family’s ownership for its entire existence. Your support enables us to protect the buildings and precious landscape here for the future.
Please note that admission to Haddon Hall is not included within the price of this event.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
