Workshops

Throughout the year we have an extensive programme of workshops and events focused on developing new skills.

Watercolours in the Meadow Art Workshop

2 Aug

Brand new for 2025, we are delighted to welcome local watercolour artist Julie Mellor for a very special art workshop in Haddon Medieval Park. Perfect for both beginners and more accomplished artists, this event gives you the opportunity to paint the beautiful landscapes of this private parkland, including the pretty footbridge over the River Wye, the wildflowers, riverbanks, and views of Haddon Hall not normally seen by the public.

In this full day workshop, Julie will teach you the techniques of watercolour painting, whatever your current level of skill, guiding you to create artworks that you will be proud of. You will begin by identifying compositions and learning how to sketch confidently outdoors, and in the afternoon you will paint your work in our Tudor Stable Block studio, ready for mounting and framing.

No experience is necessary and all materials and equipment will be provided, including watercolour paper, paints and framing materials. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Feel free to bring your own pencils and paints if you would prefer to.

Please note that admission to Haddon Hall is not included within the price of this event.

This event is non refundable.
