Halloween Medieval Parkland Walk: Fascinating Folklore and Mysterious Superstitions
21 October 2024
Join us for a walk with a difference in Haddon Medieval Park this Halloween!
In a special event designed for the season, our experienced guides will take you behind-the-scenes into the normally private parkland that surrounds Haddon Hall, and explain the mysterious superstitions, folklore, ancient remedies and beliefs that would have been so important to the community here in the past.
Your ticket for this walk entitles you to half-price admission to Haddon Hall and gardens on the same day.
Once the deer park for Haddon Hall in the 14th Century, Haddon Medieval Park is now the Peak District’s largest, oldest rewilding site. Managed organically since 2009, its rich mosaic of habitats includes wood pasture, meadows and the heart of the Derbyshire River Wye. This walk covers approximately 1-2 miles, with gentle ascent and descent. The landscape is natural and unspoilt, with few paths. Please note that the terrain is uneven in places and may be wet and/or muddy.
