Exclusive drinks reception and talk with Dr James Fox, author of Craftland

7 Jul

Join us for a very special evening at Haddon, as we welcome Dr James Fox, author of the bestselling book Craftland for a drinks reception and talk in the Long Gallery.

Britain has always been a craft land. For generations what we made with our hands defined our identities, built our communities and shaped our regions. Craftland chronicles the vanishing skills and traditions that once governed every aspect of life on these shores.

A Radio 4 and Sunday Times Book of the Week, Craftland has received wide critical acclaim since it was published last year. The Guardian wrote, “Craftland is a book that shimmers with love for a dwindling world of meticulous, patient labour.”

We are delighted to welcome James to Haddon Hall, a place created over centuries by generations of master craftsmen. He will talk about his experiences researching and writing Craftland, before chairing what is sure to be a fascinating panel discussion with distinguished British craftspeople featured in the book.

A limited number of tickets are available to this exclusive evening event, including drinks reception, talk and a copy of Craftland signed by the author.
