Our children’s free guided tours are a fun activity focussing on some of the fascinating and quirky aspects of Haddon’s history and the lives of the people – both family and staff – who have lived here over the centuries. Learn about the spitboy’s job in the medieval kitchens; discover whether the Elizabethans had baby-walkers for their toddlers; imagine preparing for a morning lesson with your swordmaster . . .
Held at intervals during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer vacation
Places limited so please book on arrival at the Ticket Office
Suggested age range 5 – 15 (Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
This year we are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to join an archery class if you wish with a Master Archer on site on Tuesdays during August. He will be offering sessions on a first come, first served basis down on the Chapel Field so do enquire on the day of your visit if you are interested. There will be a small fee payable to the archery tutor for this activity – and grown ups are welcome to have a go too!
