The Haddon Estate in the Peak District has been in the same family for over 900 years and at its heart is Haddon Hall; an incredible, Grade I Listed medieval building, noted for being one of the best examples of architecture of its kind in the country. This superb building requires the finest craftsmanship to maintain it, and therefore its owner, Lord Edward Manners, established his own joinery with the outstanding carpenters to carry out this considerable task. From this, a local joinery business has developed – from which the public can now benefit.
Using the skills and traditional techniques of the craftsmen at the estate’s joinery, which is based in Rowsley near Bakewell, the Haddon Estate now commercially manufactures high quality, bespoke woodwork – ranging from outdoor pieces like garden furniture, log stores and wooden gates, to indoor work including shutters, sash windows, staircases and furniture.
The Haddon Estate’s team of two expert carpenters – with over 25 years’ experience between them – design and produce custom-made pieces using timber from the historic Belvoir Estate in Leicestershire, Haddon’s sister estate, and softwood from naturally-regenerating forests.
Book an appointment with Peter or Tom to discuss your requirements, whether your piece is already designed or simply an idea that they can flesh out onto a drawing board and produce promptly. The finished result will be a unique, attractive addition to your home or garden, one that’s been created by hand, using traditional methods and sustainable wood.
