KS1-4 Session Options

Below are a few suggestions of how Haddon Hall, its history, grounds and contents, can link with areas of the National Curriculum. For more information, please contact our group bookings team on 01629 810912.

KEY STAGE 1

Meet costumed historic characters and engage in hands-on activities that explore their lives during the Tudor and Medieval Period. Sessions last 1-2 hours and are cross-curricular across History, Science, English, Art and Design & Technology.

KEY STAGE 2

Meet costumed historic characters and engage in hands-on activities that explore their lives during the Tudor and Medieval Period. Sessions are full day or half day (approximately 2 hours) and are cross-curricular across History, Science, English, Geography and Design & Technology.

Other KS1-2 sessions include:

Rocks & Soils – (full day) spend a day as a scientist conducting experiments to investigate rocks & soil

Earth Walks – (half day) explore the Haddon countryside using the senses & see the world a different way.

KEY STAGES 3-4    

Full day session using the Hall as a primary source to create a Haddon Timeline. Develop the skills historians use, through observation and discussion, and solve challenges by working co-operatively. Supports both ‘The Development of Church, State and Society in medieval Britain 1066-1509 and 1509-1745’ periods.  The Chapel demonstrates the pre- and post-Reformation religious changes to churches.
