Music and Demonstrations held throughout the day
All included in your admission price
10:30 – 4:00pm
On our sixteenth day of Christmas at Haddon, 16th December, Ayres and Graces shall be performing a selection of music on voice and lute within the Banqueting Hall.
Joanna Allen, Printmaker and Silk Artist, will also be with us. Joanna is an artist, printmaker and designer with a degree in Painted Textiles. She makes the most lovely products using her designs such as linen and velvet cushions and dreamy silk scarves.
At Haddon, Joanna will talk you through her printing process techniques, with an introductory talk to the ‘collagraph’ process and plate making. A collagraph printing plate is made by gluing thin textured materials or applying liquid materials to a rigid surface and then ink is applied and transferred onto paper using a press. Joanna’s demonstrations will be interesting and unusual: a wonderful way to be introduced to a beautiful craft.
We are also delighted to be hosting, Rachel Evans, a basket maker and willow artist. Rachel makes making traditional willow baskets and teaches basketry. At Haddon, Rachel will be showing you how to make a willow wreath that you can re-use each year by adding new decoration. You might also like to discuss how to make a beautiful basket for your fireside logs with her.
We look forward to you joining us for this fun filled, inspiring day and hope that you will sign your name on our Christmas card to the Queen, which will be found in the Long Gallery.
