School Visits

We welcome school visits to this wonderful medieval & Tudor house. Its history, stretching back to the Norman period, makes a perfect setting for an education visit.

Haddon Hall is brought to life by our experienced guides. Children are enthralled with the history of the house and the colourful characters connected with it. Tours are adapted to suit different ages, abilities and interests. The students are separated into groups of no more than 20, and are taken on a relevant tour of the hall and chapel, which lasts an hour. Post-tour, re-entry into the Hall and Gardens can be arranged prior to your visit.

For Key Stage 2 there is the option of the Costume Room. where the Tudor household is described through costumes. Children get the chance to dress-up as a member of the Vernon or Manners family, which certainly brings the characters to life. Not to mention a fabulous photo opportunity for your visit. This will add another half hour to your visit.

For secondary schools we can organise activities as an alternative to a tour. The students will be led around the hall by our guides, and then take part in a relevant task in the rooms. These activities can be tailored to your requirements.
