Haddon Hall is one of the most beautiful and historically important country houses in Britain, set in the heart of the Peak District National Park.  The Medieval Park that surrounds the Hall is also a rare treasure, comprising 187 hectares of organic pasture, woodlands, water meadows and river banks. Largely untouched for over 900 years, it offers a wonderful variety of different landscapes for photography and a diverse range of habitats teeming with wildlife.

In these exclusive events professional photography tutors Guy Badham and Naomi Jones will take you behind the scenes into the private areas of Haddon Hall’s Medieval Park.  Your full day workshop will include the chance to photograph wide viewpoints overlooking the rolling Peak District hills, as well as intimate landscapes within the woodlands and meadows, plus whatever wildlife you may spot along the way.  There is also the opportunity to see Haddon Hall from new angles not normally seen by the public, and photograph historic architecture within the Parkland.  You may even be lucky enough to meet the gentle herd of rare breed English Longhorn cattle.

Throughout your day you will receive patient, individualised tuition to help you get the best out of your camera, whatever brand or model you use and whatever your current level of skill.  Both Guy and Naomi have decades of experience of photography training and they are passionate about inspiring others to gain confidence in their cameras and improve their skills.

Your day includes a light lunch of soup and a sandwich plus tea or coffee within Haddon Hall’s restaurant.

There will be a maximum of 4 people per tutor on each day, making your experience quiet and personal with no overcrowding, no being overlooked and no scaring away the wildlife!

You will need to bring and carry whatever photography equipment you wish to use.  Please note that this workshop takes place within the unspoilt, natural landscape of the Haddon Medieval Park.  There are few paths, the terrain is uneven in places and may be wet and/or muddy.  The route involves a walk of around 2-3 miles, so a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required.  For your safety and comfort you are advised to wear walking boots or other stout footwear and to have warm, waterproof clothing available with you to wear if required on the day of your visit.  Please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee good weather, nor can we guarantee what wildlife you will see.  Nature is unpredictable!  However, we’re sure you will enjoy your day, come rain or shine.
