Haddon’s Magical Marks and Graffiti tours take adult visitors on a candlelit tour of the hall to explore the astonishing trove of Apotropaic Marks, more commonly known as Witches Marks, to be found here. These magical marks were thought to avert evil spirits and malign influences, and can be found throughout the hall if one knows where to look. Our knowledgeable guides will lead visitors though the house encouraging them to find these reminders of an older, deeply superstitious age whilst sharing eerie tales from the Hall’s past. The tour will include a visit to Haddon’s Death room, not normally open to the public, and a review of some of the fascinating objects found in Haddon’s Museum which were discovered by the 9th Duke during his restoration of the hall in the early 20th Century.
