How to get here


By Road

Haddon is situated on the A6 between Bakewell and Rowsley, 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Bakewell. The Hall has a dedicated car park on the A6. If using Satnav beaware that it may try to take you up a private track with our postcode. We advise you put in directions for Bakewell or Rowsley and then follow the brown tourist signs for Haddon Hall.


By public transport

Excellent train links with London St Pancras via Matlock or Chesterfield. Journey time is less than two hours on the direct line to Chesterfield, and there is a taxi rank at the station.

It takes less than half an hour by taxi from Chesterfield.
There is a bus service from Matlock station which stops at Haddon Hall.
The Hall is on the TransPeak (TP) bus route, a service that connects Manchester and Nottingham, via Buxton, Bakewell and Derby. During the day this is an hourly service.
There is also a Derby to Bakewell bus service, the 6.1, which runs via Wirksworth, and also runs hourly during the day. Both stop at the end of the drive in each direction – please ask the driver for help.

Buses also run from Sheffield (218) and Chesterfield(170) to Bakewell.

On Foot & Bicycle

We have a charging point for electric bikes.
There are public footpaths close to the Hall, but no public footpaths run through the site. Please check OS maps. There is a footpath along the A6 between Rowsley and Bakewell.
