We welcome school visits to this perfect Tudor house, ideal for Key Stage 2 studies.
Haddon Hall is brought to life by our experienced guides. Children are enthralled with the history of the house and the colourful characters connected with it. Tours are adapted to suit different ages, abilities and interests. Parties are divided into groups of up to 20, and are taken on a tour of the house and chapel. This takes about an hour.
To arrange your visit please complete the online school booking enquiry form or phone the bookings co-ordinator on 01629 810912 to discuss dates and arrangements.
The education resource pack highlights aspects of the house and its history, and will be sent out to the school on confirmation of the booking, so the visit can be prepared in advance. We also invite teachers to come and visit free of charge before their confirmed visit when we are open to the public, to help them prepare for their school visit.
We ask school groups to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
In addition to the tour of the Hall, we offer a costume room experience. The Tudor household is described through costumes, and the children get the chance to dress up as different members of the Vernon and Manners families. This enjoyable experience brings the history of the household to life and is a great photo opportunity for the school visit!
Please note that we are unable to re-admit the group to the house, courtyard and gardens after their tour.
To arrange your visit please complete the online school booking enquiry form or phone the bookings co-ordinator on 01629 810912 to discuss dates and arrangements.
