THE LONG GALLERY

The Long Gallery is a spectacular example of Elizabethan architecture and design, and the predominant feeling is of light and space. 110 feet long and 17 feet wide this delightful room was built at the end of the 16 th century by Sir John Manners and his wife Dorothy to celebrate their marriage, and the union of the two great families of Manners and Vernon.
