It's time to fall in love all over again as the critically-acclaimed Jane Eyre is released on Blu-ray & DVD from 12 March 2012, just in time for Mother's Day.
Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) and Michael Fassbender (Shame, Inglourious Basterds) head-up an all-star cast which includes the exceptional home-grown talent of Dame Judi Dench, Jamie Bell and Sally Hawkins. From award-winning director Cary Fukunaga, this fresh and bold adaptation by screenwriter Moira Buffini (Tamara Drewe) breathes new life in to one of the most enduring English love affairs of all time.
The film begins as heroine Jane (Wasikowska) flees across the dramatic Yorkshire moors surrounding Mr Rochester's (Fassbender) gothic Thornfield Hall, eventually seeking refuge with clergyman St John Rivers (Bell). As Jane recuperates, she recalls a bleak childhood with her cruel aunt Mrs Reed (Hawkins) before starting life as governess of Thornfield under the warm supervision of Mrs Fairfax (Dench).
Gradually, Jane begins to see past the cold and abrupt exterior of her master Mr. Rochester, but as the two grow close, could a terrible secret destroy their new-found happiness forever?
The release contains fantastic bonus material including Feature Commentary with director Cary Fukunaga.
A haunting score by renowned composer Dario Marianellie and an impressive gothic setting showcasing the stark beauty of northern England also contribute to this modern and faithful retelling of a beloved British classic.
Jane Eyre will make for the perfect Mother's Day gift when it is released on Blu-ray & DVD on 12 March 2012.
